Platform Update: Smarter Fuel Categorisation for Better Insights
We’ve made an important update to how fuel use is categorised in Compare Your Footprint, giving you clearer visibility into your emissions sources, and helping you take more targeted action.
What’s Changed
The categories for Liquid Fuels and Biofuels have been refined to provide greater clarity. Instead of broad groupings, you’ll now see specific use types:
Liquid Fuels: Stationary combustion (e.g. generators, boilers)
Liquid Fuels: Mobile combustion (e.g. fleet vehicles)
Biofuel: Stationary combustion
Biofuel: Mobile combustion
These new categories will make it easier to interpret your emissions data and pinpoint reduction opportunities.
Why This Matters
This improvement gives users:
More accurate and specific categorisation of fuel emissions
Better alignment with emissions reporting frameworks
Clearer insights to support internal decision-making and reduction strategies
Impact on Historical Data
All of your past entries have been automatically updated to align with the new fuel categories - based on usage type.
No data has been lost, just refined to improve insight and reporting accuracy.
